Three Great Spots for Cocktails in Sacramento

A Lavender Fizz at The Green Room in Sacramento

We love kicking back at one of these cocktail bars to celebrate finding the perfect home for one of our buyers or signing that great mid century listing.  Want the vibe but not the alcohol — these spots also offer nonalcoholic options.

The Roost

Part of the fun in visiting this excellent cocktail bar is that it is hidden in the back of Bawk restaurant.  You enter through a storage area into a small room that will remind you of an old speakeasy with its low lighting and brick walls. Quite a contrast to the fast food chicken restaurant right outside.  You can make a reservation online or we found if you show up early no reservations are needed. A menu of small bites is also available.

Two Drinks at Star Lounge

Star Lounge

Located in the historic Eastern Star Building, the Star Lounge is a newcomer to the Sacramento cocktail scene.  We watched for many months as this building was transformed into a hotel by Hyatt. They kept a good portion of the original 1928 building and added hotel rooms above the property.  You might want to dress up for this one — when you enter the lobby and head up the beautiful staircase to the lounge, you feel like you are joining a 1920s dinner party.  If you want more than a cocktail, they have a full dinner menu.

The Green Room

This is a very fun, buzzy spot.  We like to sit at the bar and chat with the friendly bartenders.  They have bar bites as well as a full menu. We love to pair our cocktail with the burger and a wedge salad — a classic match.
